Canada's Michael Ignatieff, future ET Disclosure Prime Minister in a nation ready for change?

If a coalition government comes to power in Canada in the next election, as it did in the U.K., Michael Ignatieff, leader of the Liberal Party, may well be the next Prime Minister of Canada.

Michael Ignatieff wrote in his book The Rights Revolution:

Paul Hellyer: Canada’s Exopolitical elder statesman

Paul Hellyer, former Minister of Defence and Deputy Prime Minister of Canada, can be considered Canada’s Exopolitical elder statesman.

Mr. Hellyer, who has called for open Canadian Parliament hearings on the extraterrestrial presence, worked diligently in the years following his 2005 University of Toronto speech as influential insider to attempt coordination with a number of citizen groups in Canada to secure public hearings by the Canadian Senate Committee on National Security & Defence then headed by Senator Colin Kenny.

Senator Kenny, who received extensive written documentation as well as informal briefings from Mr. Hellyer himself, refused to grant public hearings for the Canadian public on the extraterrestrial presence.

One source states, ""Liberal Senator Colin Kenny was approached by Hellyer in late 2005 and asked to hold public hearings on Canadian exopolitics. That’s the politics of how to deal with extraterrestrial contact. Kenny, who chaired the Senate defence committee, remembers the meeting well. 'I liked Paul, I worked for him in the leadership race in 1968, and when he called me up to see me I was pleased to see him and we reminisced for a while,' Kenny recalls. 'Then, wow! Out of the blue, he starts talking about extraterrestrials and how they’re everywhere and they have these immense powers.' Kenny says his opinion about aliens hasn’t changed since that meeting five years ago: 'I think it’s for the birds. I’m certainly not going to waste any of my time on the extraterrestrial business,” Kenny said.

Canada’s Governor General Michaëlle Jean and extraterrestrials

According to one source, "The Governor General of Canada is the federal viceregal representative of the Canadian monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, who is equally shared with 15 other sovereign nations in a form of personal union, as well as with the ten other jurisdictions of Canada, and resides predominantly in her oldest realm, the United Kingdom. On the advice of her Canadian prime minister only, the Queen appoints the governor general to carry out most of her constitutional and ceremonial duties for an unfixed period of time—known as serving At Her Majesty's pleasure—though five years is the normal convention, as is a rotation between anglophone and francophone incumbents. Once in office, these individuals maintain direct contact with the Queen, wherever she may be at the time."

Rebuffed in the Canadian Senate, a coalition of citizen groups seeking open parliamentary hearings in Canada on the extraterrestrial presence approached Canadian Governor General Michaëlle Jean asking her to use her authority to break the embargo in Canada the parliament or government dealing publicly with issues around the extraterrestrial presence.

Their May 2007 request to the Governor General (which is online) read in part:

"In light of the decisions by the Government of France (March 2007) and the United Kingdom (May 2007) to release previously classified information on Extraterrestrial craft now visiting Earth, and of the imminent plans by a G7 ally of Canada to attempt open contact with the Extraterrestrial civilizations, it is important that two informed Experts, Dr. Steven Greer of the Disclosure Project, and the Honourable Paul Hellyer, former Minister of Defence of Canada, brief and apprise you as Governor General on this subject from a public interest point of view at your earliest convenience.

"You may certainly receive briefings from the Department of Defence, for example. We would like to offer you the opportunity of an informed, expert Citizen's briefing on the subject of Canada's role with Extraterrestrial civilizations.

Background

“The information below described by many experts, scientists and diplomats as the most provocative information ever released in the history of humanity, possesses and subsequently will provide you with an evidential prescience more far-reaching in its implications than any other revelation in human civilization.

“We trust this correspondence will:

♣ Illustrate these dramatic assertions for you in no uncertain terms;
♣ Provide you with a set of workable options to secure a more acute perspective on this matter through specified briefings and;

♣ April/May 2007 - Great Britain's Ministry of Defense has indicated that it will be releasing UFO sighting reports to the public for examination.

♣ March 2007 - The French national space agency, CNES, placed 1600 previously classified UFO sighting reports into the public domain on the Internet and for the examination of the scientific community.

♣ September 2005 - Paul Hellyer, Canada's Defense Minister from 1963-67 under Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Prime Minister Lester B. Pearson and deputy prime minister under Pierre Trudeau, publicly stated, "UFOs, are as real as the airplanes that fly over your head."

♣ September 2005 - Former Apollo astronaut, Dr. Brian O'Leary, wrote in a foreword to Hidden Truth, Forbidden Knowledge, by Dr. Steven Greer, "These revelations underscore a long, sordid history of governmental and media secrecy and the acquisition of technologies such as microelectronics, anti-gravity propulsion and zero-point, or "free" energy, from our visitors. This massive cover-up has been going on for almost six decades since the UFO crash near Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947, an event that was certainly not caused by balloons, as alleged by the U.S. Air force. Such myths are only accepted by the ignorant or the powerful and their subjects."

♣ May 2005 - The Brazilian Air Force (FIB), entered into an agreement with civilian researchers to release information and jointly investigate UFO incidents.

♣ October 1998 – Edgar Mitchell Apollo Astronaut - "I am an American astronaut and a trained scientist. Because of my position people in high places confide in me. And, as a result, I have no doubt that aliens HAVE visited this planet. The American government and governments throughout the world have thousands of files of UFO sightings which cannot be explained."

♣ November 1950 - Wilbert B. Smith Senior Radio Engineer - Canadian Department of Transportation Memoranda - "The matter is the most highly classified subject in the United States Government, rating higher even than the H-bomb. Flying saucers exist. Their modus operandi is unknown but concentrated effort is being made by a small group headed by Doctor Vannevar Bush. The entire matter is considered by the United States authorities to be of tremendous significance."

Summary

♣ Is Canada willing to be left behind among other G7 countries as they begin to examine both the historical and future implications of contact with off-world civilizations?

♣ Will Canada, as a respected member of the United Nations, disavow or boldly sustain its role as an international leader in the pursuit of social justice and human rights concerns surrounding the educational, social, economic and environmental implications the Extraterrestrial matter holds for all citizens of the planet?

♣ Given that these off-world civilizations possess technologies and energy sources that allow them to engage in interstellar travel, will Canada become a leading proponent of and advocate for a promise of a new level of civilization with New Energy sources and radically new industrial, medical and environmental technologies?

♣ Will Canada join the wave of initiatives to engage a global dialogue and a process of international education concerning diplomatic contact with off-world civilizations that France and the UK and other nations are now undertaking?

♣ Given that Canada is in the midst of a deep political crisis for the survival of its sovereignty and; that Canada faces the real risk of going into deep integration with the USA military-industrial complex at this moment in history, will Canada choose to engage Disclosure over the sequestration of information in favour of Canadian sovereignty and independence from the USA, which has not chosen Disclosure to date?

No Parliamentary hearings on extraterrestrial disclosure in Canada to date

As was the case with the Canadian Senate, and an August 2007 approach to Stephen Harper, conservative prime minister of Canada, no action was forthcoming from the office of the Governor General with regard to the extraterrestrial presence.

In 2008, all members of the Canadian Parliament received a copy of an Exopolitics documentary, urging extraterrestrial disclosure.

In 2009, Exopolitics Toronto, a citizen grass-roots watchdog group based in Toronto, Canada has issued an online report exposing the Canadian government’s policy of covering up UFO and extraterrestrial-related sightings and interactions. After studying the Canadian government’s release of 9500 files on its Archives Canada website, Exopolitics Canada concluded, “Although the UFO files compiled by high level government officials provide an interesting chronology of Canada's accumulation of UFO sightings, many of the files also tell a dramatic story about how high level government officials orchestrated meetings, agendas, memoranda and Ministerial letters designed to play-down and ultimately cover-up the UFO issue with measures similar to those used by the American government.”

Exopolitics is 'decades ahead of itself'

Some observers of exopolitics in Canada are not surprised by the initial reception that Paul Hellyer received in the Senate of Canada. One veteran observer states, "Perhaps if Senator Kenny was first approached with Leslie Kean's book on UFOs - UFOs On the Record - that she just released, it would be much more difficult for him to generally dismiss the issue and say that statement that "UFOs are for the birds." Most politicians' level of knowledge about this issue is very, very low if not non-existent. Witnesses like Corso, or most others seems to be dismissed by mainstream. If not, they get some headlines but the next day or next week, all goes back to normal as if there is nothing happening. We've seen this with even major UFO events like Phoenix 1997, Chicago O'Hare 2006, etc. These unsolved cases do accumulate over time, and maybe we'll have a drop that will fill the cup one day. But for now, there's only so many hours in a day and most policy makers feel that it's a waste of time.

"They may not think it is a waste of time if they first could be exposed to read accounts of Generals and very high level officials. After all these years, I think that the existence of unidentified flying objects needs to be first established in the mainstream and with more public officials. Despite polls suggesting that the mainstream believe that there is a UFO cover up, the reality is that it is still a subject that is dismissed publicly by most decision makers, as we've witnessed for decades. The issue seems to require to be associated with the highest credibility cases possible based on today's cases / sightings, before any hypothetical scenarios are introduced (exopolitics).

"Exopolitics is still decades ahead of itself in my view, but less with people who are persuaded that UFOs exist. This is where the debate comes in about what the policy implications are once one accepts that we appear to not be 'alone.' There's still tons of questions as per who they are, what they want, etc., questions that may never really be answered to satisfy all the questions. Questions could last 1000 years, as the galaxy is huge and the universe is endless."

There is, according to some observers, some chance of a Canadian federal election in the Fall of 2010, or if not in the Spring of 2011.

It may be that if a federal election occurs, Liberal leader Michael Ignatieff may emerge as leader of a coalition of the opposition parties, as no party now seems to have the constituency for a majority government. Jack Layton, leader of the NDP Party is another potential leader of a coalition government.

Both Mr. Ignatieff and Mr. Layton have received informal briefings from advocates of extraterrestrial disclosure. Neither leader has as yet made the extraterrestrial issue a priority.
